Hi there!
Zapier’s Head of Total Rewards guides our thinking on how we invest in our most important resource—our people. At Zapier, Total Rewards includes all compensation programs—base pay, bonus, sales compensation—as well as our equity, benefits, and wellness programs.
As Zapier’s Head of Total Rewards, you’ll lead a brilliant team responsible for designing and delivering Zapier’s Total Rewards strategy. In doing so, you’ll power our ability to attract, retain, and recognize the talent necessary to delight our customers and achieve Zapier’s mission to make automation work for everyone.
Zapier has a defined Total Rewards strategy and a suite of thoughtful, transparent pay and benefits practices. With this leader, we're looking for someone to help refine what we have built to date, lead the company through several strategic total rewards efforts, and inspire continued growth and excellence from our Total Rewards team.
This role reports directly to Zapier’s Chief People Officer, Brandon Sammut. For more about Brandon, check out Brandon’s Read Me. (A “Read Me” is a Zapier tradition: Every new Zapien writes one to help their teammates learn about them—their personal values, working style, and more.)
About You
You have 10+ years of Total Rewards experience, including 5+ years of developing compensation and benefits programs for a global workforce
You’re a strong leader with deep market expertise in creating and evolving competitive, impactful, and financially sustainable Total Rewards solutions
You’re adept in building trusted relationships with the business, cross-functional leaders, and vendors to establish collaborative partnerships that deliver results within our total rewards and talent strategies.
You have experience developing, leading, and coaching a team of Total Rewards professionals
You have a track record of success advising executives and fellow People Team leaders on total rewards topics. Prior board-level compensation committee experience is a plus.
You have experience implementing enhancements to Rewards programs based on internal data, best practices, and external trends. You make data-driven decisions.
You have experience working with a PEO, particularly as related to benefits. Bonus points if you have helped offboard a PEO and established new health and welfare benefits.
You have strong financial acumen. You know how total rewards decisions influence a company’s financial health and performance.
Things You’ll Do
Refine Zapier’s Total Rewards Strategy to “meet the moment” for our growing business and team
Continuously improve Zapier’s total rewards programs in ways that maximize impact and cost-effectiveness
Build repeatable ways to measure the impact of our total rewards programs, including how they’re used and experienced by Zapier’s 750 team members working in 40+ countries
Coach, mentor, and enable our (very talented) Total Rewards team as trusted advisors to the business, and as product owners for our compensation, benefits, and equity programs
Help Zapier evaluate high-complexity talent and financial strategy topics, including when and how to offboard our U.S. PEO, and whether to move to a self-funded health coverage model
Advance Zapier’s workplace equity effort to ensure our talent and pay practices work for all
Use technology, tools, and repeatable systems to scale Zapier’s Total Rewards programs
Serve as the executive compensation subject-matter expert to our CEO, Chief People Officer, and Board of Directors
Build and maintain partnerships with vendors, consultants, and Zapier’s Legal Team
How to Apply
At Zapier, we believe that diverse perspectives and experiences make us better, which is why we have a non-standard application process designed to promote inclusion and equity. We're looking for the best fit for each of our roles, regardless of the type of education or companies in your background, so we encourage you to apply even if your skills and experiences don’t exactly match the job description. All we ask is that you answer a few in-depth questions in our application that would typically be asked at the start of an interview process. This helps speed things up by letting us get to know you and your skillset a bit better right out of the gate. Please be sure to answer each question; the resume and CV fields are optional.
After you apply, you are going to hear back from us—even if we don’t see an immediate fit with our team. In fact, throughout the process, we strive to never go more than seven days without letting you know the status of your application. We know we’ll make mistakes from time to time, so if you ever have questions about where you stand or about the process, just ask your recruiter!
Zapier is an equal-opportunity employer and we're excited to work with talented and empathetic people of all identities. Our code of conduct provides a beacon for the kind of company we strive to be, and we celebrate our differences because those differences are what allow us to make a product that serves a global user base. Zapier will consider all qualified applicants, including those with criminal histories, consistent with applicable laws.
Zapier is committed to inclusion. As part of this commitment, Zapier welcomes applications from individuals with disabilities and will work to provide reasonable accommodations. If reasonable accommodations are needed to participate in the job application or interview process, please contact jobs@zapier.com.
Application Deadline:
The anticipated application window is 30 days from the date job is posted, unless the number of applicants requires it to close sooner or later, or if the position is filled.
