We’re looking for an experienced Manager, Procurement who will be responsible for overseeing Zapier’s vendor purchasing, including sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services for our company’s operations.

In this role reports to the Controller.  You’ll work closely with Zapien’s across the organization, as well as our Security, Legal, and IT teams in ensuring that needs of the organization are obtained in a timely, yet compliant fashion. A successful Manager, Procurement brings expertise in developing and implementing procurement strategies to support the needs of the organization, including managing the procurement processes, providing leadership, collaborating with internal stakeholders, sourcing suppliers, and negotiating favorable terms.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management is a plus.

  • Experience navigating and administering Zip, our procurement tool, and Ironclad, our contract management system, a plus.

  • At least 5-7 years of experience in technology or SaaS industry procurement, sourcing, or supply chain management, with a background in a strong internal control environment preferred.

  • Proven experience in negotiating multiple contracts simultaneously, managing supplier relationships at scale, and implementing procurement strategies to drive cost savings and efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage a small team and provide leadership through mentorship and guidance, setting the strategy for procurement organization wide.

  • Experience in developing and implementing procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, evaluate supplier performance, and identify opportunities for improvement in the procurement process.

  • Experience in managing budgets and tracking procurement spend against approved budgets to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and provide guidance on procurement-related issues.

  • Experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and developing metrics to measure the effectiveness of the procurement process and drive continuous improvement.

  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations related to procurement practices, compliance, and risk management.

Things You’ll Do:

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to support the needs of the organization.

  • Manage the procurement process from start to finish including collaboration with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs, sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and placing orders ensuring  that procurement activities align with business goals.

  • Negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and conditions for Zapier, in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

  • Build strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring that Zapier purchasing needs are met.

  • Provide leadership to the Procurement team to ensure team deliverables and goals are met, while championing  opportunities for growth and development.

  • Develop and maintain accurate records of procurement documentation including contracts.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify procurement needs and provide guidance on best practices for sourcing suppliers.  

  • Provide guidance and support to other departments on procurement-related issues.

  • Develop and manage the Request for Proposal (“RFP”) process, providing guidance and support to users in order to ensure efficiency and thoroughness.

  • Identify gaps and implement improvements to our procurement processes.

  • Stay informed and conduct market research on trends and industry best practices, to identify potential new suppliers and make informed procurement decisions.

  • Work closely with the Finance, Planning and Analysis teams to develop spend forecasts, including tracking spend requests against approved budgets.

  • Develop and maintain key performance indicators (“KPIs”) to measure the effectiveness of the procurement process and drive continuous improvement.

  • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and address any issues or concerns.
