We're looking for a seasoned Full Stack Developer to help build a system that scrapes multiple business-for-sale listing sites, normalizes the data, and provides a user interface to review and evaluate potential investment opportunities. This project is expected to last around 3 months, with the possibility of extension based on progress and evolving needs.
Responsibilities:
Data Scraping & Integration
- Develop daily and on-demand scrapers to fetch listings from multiple sites
- Normalize and store data in a shared schema (e.g., price, revenue, location, etc.) in SQL databases
Application Logic & APIs
- Implement serverless functions or container-based microservices (Cloud Run / Cloud Functions or similar) to handle various workflow steps
- Set up triggers to manage scraping, data normalization, and model evaluations
UI Development
- Build front-end components (TypeScript & React) that allow users to:
- Trigger and monitor scraping
- Filter and display listings
- Enter and search business theses/strategies
- Input prompts and model combinations
- Review listings flagged for due diligence
Model Integration
- Integrate with large language models (OpenAI, Claude, Gemini, Grok) to evaluate each listing against defined theses
- Store model prompts and outputs in a database
- Provide an interface to trigger model evaluations on-demand
Due Diligence Workflows
- Implement a progression system for listings flagged for further review
- Store additional due diligence data and allow manual promotion of listings
Performance & Maintenance
- Optimize system for scalability (potentially on Google Cloud Platform or Cloudflare)
- Write clean, maintainable code and ensure robust data handling and security
- 3-5 years of full stack development experience
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript (front-end and back-end)
- Experience with serverless or container-based architectures (GCP, AWS, or similar)
- Solid understanding of SQL databases (Postgres, SQLite)
- Familiarity with web scraping techniques and libraries
- Knowledge of RESTful API design and best practices
- Experience integrating large language models or working with AI/ML APIs
- Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results
- Strong communication skills in both English and Spanish
Nice to Have
- Experience with Cloudflare and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) specifically
- Familiarity with advanced text processing or AI-based data extraction
- Interest in business acquisitions, financial data, or M&A processes
- Some knowledge of crypto/blockchain technologies
- Work remotely Monday - Friday, 40 hours a week (no weekends)
- Vacation: 10 business days a year
