Job Description
As a Compliance Officer, you’ll impact the lives of everyday people and help them go from surviving to thriving with innovative digital personal finance solutions. The Compliance Officer will be a subject matter expert tasked to provide compliance support of our debt resolution business units. This position will work across our current debt resolution product offering and their support functions. Our ideal candidate brings demonstrated subject matter expertise and application of consumer protection laws and regulations in the following:
- Telemarking Sales Rule (TSR)
- Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA)
- Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) – Federal and State Level
- Unfair, Deceptive, or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP)
What you’ll do:
- Manage and oversee all aspects of the debt resolution Wholesale (WS) and Legal Partner Network (LPN) compliance programs, including the development of monthly, quarterly and annual compliance monitoring
- Partner with WS and LPN Operations teams to ensure all regulatory requirements are accurately conducted and reported
- Create, review and implement improvements to the current processes and procedures across all debt resolution business units
- Lead internal reviews and draft reports containing recommendations and findings as needed
- Summarize and report regularly on key activity within the program and escalate gaps and concerns to the Debt Resolution Head of Compliance and Risk and the Debt Resolution Risk Committee (DRRC)
- Coordinate activity and interact with regulators and other third-party auditors in collaboration with the Debt Resolution Head of Compliance and Risk and Sr. Leaders
- Advise on compliance with laws and regulations for applicable programs, including consulting on the design and implementation of key performance indicators, key risk indicators and business changes to provide tactical regulatory/compliance and ensure consistent framework, standards and risk tolerances are followed in accordance with Compliance and Risk expectations
- Track and understand the changing regulatory environment to ensure policies, procedures and key stakeholders are kept current
- Collaborate with the Legal Department to assess the applicability and risk level of new/updated laws, rules and regulations.
- Assist with the preparation and execution of risk assessments of each business unit and present to management
- Develop strong, productive working relationships with internal customers. As a trusted advisor to various business units, maintain a strong grasp of the evolving business model, processes, systems, and associated controls; propose and influence positive change in these areas
- Participate in Enterprise initiatives and projects, demonstrate agility to shift priorities as needed
Qualifications
What you’ll bring:
- 5+ years considerable experience in consumer regulatory compliance with a debt resolution company, licensed financial institution or as regulatory compliance examiner
- Advanced knowledge and understanding of Third-Party Risk Management in a large financial institutional setting
- Advanced knowledge of third-party risk management operational and regulatory risks and controls related to onboarding and due diligence, including knowledge of risk management techniques from prevention, identification, assessment, and mitigation perspectives
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Solid analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
- Desire and ability to quickly learn about the activities and specificity of our unique business model and technology
- Self-starter, willing to take ownership and drive initiatives to resolution while reporting appropriately on progress made and escalating when difficulties are encountered.
- Willingness and ability to learn new laws, rules, and regulations and interpret and apply them to the business
- Familiarity with GRC applications, Microsoft Office, and other software
- Ability to prioritize and be agile in a fast-moving, complex environment

Salary Range: $110,000 to $142,000 annually + bonus + benefits. This information represents the expected salary range for this role. Should we decide to make an offer for employment, we'll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
