Job Summary:
Legal and Compliance is seeking a Director of Compliance – REAL Wallet to oversee the creation, management, and oversight of compliance initiatives specifically for our digital wallet product, REAL Wallet. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in fintech product compliance, particularly with digital wallets, payment systems, or related financial technology products. This individual will work to enhance governance and oversight of the compliance management program (CMP) for REAL Wallet and other financial products, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards such as KYC, AML, and payments regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop and implement compliance strategies specifically tailored for REAL Wallet and other fintech solutions, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations.
Oversee global compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards, including KYC, AML, payment processing, and data privacy regulations related to digital wallet products.
Develop and sponsor tactics to achieve strategic objectives across functional groups or within a business group.
Establish objectives and develop processes and procedures to ensure efficient and timely workflow.
Design and oversee company policies that align with federal and state regulations and mitigate compliance risks.
Stay updated with industry trends and regulatory changes to adapt strategies.
Respond to and oversee responses to regulatory inquiries and compliance audits.
Proactively identify potential compliance risks and implement preventive measures to safeguard the company’s operations.
Work closely with the product, finance, and technology teams to ensure REAL Wallet solutions are compliant while enabling product innovation.
Maintain the required compliance systems for the firm while fostering a positive relationship with department employees and management.
Use data and performance indicators to establish control mechanisms and other improvement initiatives, and ensure quality standards are consistently attained or exceeded.
Anticipate, identify, and escalate risk scenarios early and propose potential mitigations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
10+ years of hands-on experience in regulatory compliance within the fintech industry, with a focus on digital wallets, payment systems, mobile payments, or similar fintech products.
Strong knowledge of regulations specific to digital wallets, KYC, AML, payment processing, and data privacy (in addition to SEC, FINRA, CFPB, and state laws as originally listed).
Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Expertise in project management with a results-driven mindset, especially when overseeing compliance initiatives for digital financial products.
Ability to analyze and work with quantitative and qualitative data to offer grounded compliance recommendations for digital wallets and payment systems.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a related field.
Advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CAMS, CRCM) preferred.
