Job Title: Contracts Attorney

We are seeking a Contract Attorney to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will be pivotal in drafting, negotiating, and managing a range of contracts essential to our operations. Your expertise in transactional contract law will ensure our agreements are legally sound, compliant, and aligned with our business objectives. Additionally, you will provide litigation support as needed to protect the company's interests and uphold our commitment to quality and trust.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including vendor agreements, manufacturing contracts, marketing partnerships, licensing agreements, and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).
- Provide legal counsel on transactional matters, ensuring contracts comply with legal standards and support company goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, product development, supply chain) to understand their legal needs and offer strategic advice.
- Manage and resolve contract-related disputes, seeking practical solutions to minimize risk and cost.
- Support litigation efforts, including legal research, drafting pleadings, managing discovery, and representing the company in negotiations or proceedings as needed.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, especially those related to the supplement and wellness industry, to ensure compliance and mitigate legal exposure.
- Develop and enhance contract management processes, tools, and templates to improve efficiency and consistency across the organization.
- Collaborate with outside counsel for specialized legal expertise or representation when required.
Requirements:
- 4-5 years of experience in transactional contract law, with a strong focus on drafting and negotiating agreements.
- Some experience in litigation, including familiarity with court procedures, pleadings, and case management.
- Experience in the DTC, wellness, or consumer goods industries is highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills with a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey legal concepts clearly to non-legal stakeholders.
- Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and contract management software.
