Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Paralegal to join our legal team. The successful candidate will assist attorneys by providing a range of legal support services. This role involves conducting legal research, preparing legal documents, and managing case files.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and gather relevant information on laws, regulations, and legal articles
- Assist in the preparation of legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, motions, and affidavits
- Organize and maintain case files and documentation, ensuring all information is accurate and up to date
- Prepare and file legal documents with courts and other legal entities
- Assist attorneys with case management, including the coordination of discovery, witness interviews, and trial preparation
- Communicate with clients, witnesses, and outside counsel as needed
- Maintain confidentiality of all legal matters and ensure compliance with legal ethics and company policies
- Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and billing
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in legal studies or Paralegal certification from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a paralegal or in a similar role
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and legal research methods
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal research databases (e.g., LexisNexis, Westlaw)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong ethics and ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate law, litigation, family law or similar
- Familiarity with e-filing systems and legal document management software
