*We’re seeking a skilled Databricks Platform Engineer Consultant who thrives in dynamic, collaborative environments. In addition to managing Databricks clusters and implementing platform best practices, this role requires exceptional communication skills to bridge technical solutions with functional teams. Candidates must be open to traveling to the Seattle-based campus a few times a month to collaborate with the internal team. Remote work options are available for the remainder of the time.*
As a Databricks Platform Engineer Consultant for AG Consulting Partners, a typical day might include the following:
- Configuring and maintaining Databricks clusters and workspaces for optimal performance and scalability
- Implementing capacity planning and performance tuning using best practices
- Utilizing Terraform to provision and deploy Databricks clusters, workspaces, and associated Azure resources
- Ensuring consistency and repeatability through infrastructure as code (IaC) methodologies
- Monitoring cluster performance and resource utilization to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Optimizing cluster configurations for performance and cost-effectiveness
- Managing auto-scaling to ensure efficient resource allocation
- Implementing and managing access controls, RBAC, and security policies to protect sensitive data
- Developing and enforcing encryption mechanisms and data security best practices
- Overseeing platform feature and software releases while ensuring timely updates with minimal disruption
- Providing technical support to Databricks users, including troubleshooting and issue resolution
- Conducting training sessions to educate users on platform best practices and capabilities
- Developing and maintaining backup and disaster recovery strategies for data integrity and availability

You have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated skill in translating complex technical details into clear, concise, and actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders
- 5+ years of experience in data platform engineering or related roles, with a focus on cloud-based infrastructure.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency in Databricks and Azure cloud services.
- Proven ability to navigate and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing priorities and new challenges.
- Exceptional ability to convey information clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to diverse audiences.
- Experience with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Strong understanding of data security practices, access controls, and compliance requirements.

The compensation for this position is tailored to reflect your unique skill set, relevant experience, and the current dynamics of the job market. We strive to ensure that our compensation package is competitive and fair, taking into account various factors to provide a rewarding opportunity for our team members.
The annual salary range for this role is: 110,000 - 180,000 in addition to our comprehensive benefits package.
