About This Job The Senior Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries and maintaining the Company’s general ledger and third-party transactions, assisting in the designing controls for the Company’s SOX program. Responsible for ad-hoc accounting, internal controls, and regulatory/compliance, and technical research and analyzing accruals and performing reconciliations. Responsibilities Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures, and process documents Review journal entries to properly account for general ledger Responsible for monthly accounting close for loan accounting Responsible for monthly and quarterly analytical review for loan accounting Compile quarterly financial reporting packages Prepare or review regulatory reports for the bank Prepare/review reconciliations for general ledger accounts and roll-forward schedules Assist in integration and automation of financial applications Review SOX documentation for accounting and provide best practice guidance Provide information and documents to internal auditors, external auditors, and regulators Coordinate and gather support for complex accounting projects and reporting initiatives Train and mentor Junior Staff Accountants and Interns Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years' public accounting or 4+ industry Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines Highly detailed oriented and organized Proficiency with use of e-mail, Internet, database, process mapping and presentation software Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, V-lookups, sum ifs and data manipulation Maintains confidentiality and complies with privacy legislation Axos Employee Benefits May Include: Medical, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance Paid Sick Leave, 3 weeks’ Vacation, and Holidays (about 11 a year) HSA or FSA account and other voluntary benefits 401(k) Retirement Saving Plan with Employer Match Program and 529 Savings Plan Employee Mortgage Loan Program and free access to an Axos Bank Account with Self-Directed Trading About Axos Born digital-first, Axos delivers financial tools and services that allow individuals, small businesses, and companies to access and manage their money how, when, and where they want.
