Belkins is seeking a Head of Legal to lead our legal team, providing strategic legal guidance for global expansion. This role focuses on overseeing legal operations, ensuring compliance, and managing corporate governance and partnerships.
\n- Manage and Lead the Legal Team: Supervise, mentor, and develop the skills of two legal team members, ensuring their professional growth and capacity to handle complex legal matters.
- Strategic Legal Risk Mitigation & Planning: Develop and implement long-term legal strategies for compliance and legal operations aligned with the company’s goals for expansion, M&A, corporate governance, and international operations.
- Corporate Structure and Governance: Lead efforts in structuring the company legally for optimal tax efficiency, risk management, and scalability. Oversee corporate governance and ensure compliance with board and shareholder requirements.
- Investment & Partnership Matters: Manage the legal side of mergers and acquisitions (due diligence, drafting contracts, and negotiations); structure and revise financing tools like SAFE, KISS, and convertible notes; work with advisory and partnership agreements.
- External Counsel Management: Manage relationships with external law firms and legal consultants, ensuring the effective use of external resources for specialized legal matters.
- Automation and Legal Tech: Streamline legal processes by automating documentation and implementing legal tech solutions to increase efficiency and manage legal workflows across departments.
- Hold a Master’s Degree in Law.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in a commercial in-house environment and reputable law firm;
- Have experience in leading a legal department, managing teams, and providing strategic legal counsel to senior management.
- Demonstrate experience with U.S. and EU legal environments, including corporate law, commercial contracts, and intellectual property.
- Can manage multiple priorities and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Are fluent (B2+) in both written and oral English, with proficiency in Ukrainian being essential.
- Possess business acumen and a strategic mindset.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, both written and oral.
