\n- The PCS Team is charged with supporting the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) in their effort to modernize the Medicare Payment System. We employ a research-driven, user-centered, agile, and adaptive product development approach to deliver modern and standards-based solutions. This effort empowers CMS to provide responsive, correct, and accessible systems and processes for processing payments. The team works very closely with our CMS customer teams, as well as other teams in the modernization effort.
- Facilitate agile team ceremonies for 2 scrum teams, ensuring that all ceremonies take place and are positive, productive, and within the timebox
- Responsible for the removal of impediments to the team’s progress. Identify bottlenecks or conflicts and find solutions, keeping team members on task. Foster a positive, goal-oriented teaming environment
- Use agile and lean tools and techniques to help the team keep a delivery and learning cadence that helps to remain focused on delivering value against the product vision.
- Is concerned with the health and happiness of the team members and how they work together
- Plan and facilitate product discussions to align on and refine acceptance criteria and estimate user stories
- Govern the “Definition of Done” process to ensure product and engineering goals are being fulfilled, including, but not limited to: automated test results, security test results, automated CI and CD results, security review and approval, usability testing and contractual deliverables. Work with the product development teams to address gaps in fulfilling “Done”
- Apply transparent quantitative management techniques that create opportunities for team learning and self-improvement
- Develop and manage product release plans, coordinating release and deployment scheduling and execution, including gathering approvals in a timely manner
- This is a technical project management role that follows lean and agile methodologies to plan and manage product deliveries throughout the development and release lifecycle.
- The ideal Scrum Master knows how to manage a continuous product backlog grooming process in collaboration with product managers, the integrated product team, and other stakeholders.
- The Scrum Master helps identify, coordinate, and manage dependencies across teams and performs active risk management throughout the development and release lifecycle.
- The ideal candidate has experience with lean work management practices, including Scrum, SAFe, and Kanban and can facilitate communication between the customer and the product team to ensure quarterly objectives are being fulfilled.
- The Scrum Master develops and manages product release plans, consisting of frequent production releases, usability testing with users, and management of feedback throughout lower environments.
- Ability to develop release plans, accounting for product owner’s prioritization of the backlog, team’s velocity, quarterly objectives, and customer’s deadlines
- Ability to perform active risk management throughout the development and release lifecycle
- Ability to work with the product team to manage a continuous product backlog grooming process
- Ability to work within a lean UX and lean engineering culture
- Possess a very strong attention to detail
- Demonstrate flexibility in day-to-day work
- Demonstrate strong collaboration and teaming skills
- The ability to listen and consider input from other team members
- Direct knowledge is great, but knowledge with alternative products or topics is perfectly OK! The concepts are likely the same, and new tech can be learned.

- Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline
- 6 or more years of professional experience
- US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US
- Has been living in the US for at least the past 3 years
- Successful candidate is subject to a background investigation by the government and must be able to meet the requirements to hold a position of public trust

Compensation Range: $95,000 - $130,000
