What You’ll Do
At Blackpoint, we’ve experienced a strong period of growth as a direct result of increased efficiency and productivity. To continue this trajectory, we’re searching for a highly qualified Sales Tax Analyst to join our finance team responsible for the sales tax process.
Responsibilities include:
Completing sales tax registrations, exemption certificates, and ongoing transactional support for revenue operations
Manage sales tax certification process as part of the customer onboarding process;
Manage sales tax platform including processing sales tax information and related tax filings;
Oversight of sales and use tax return transaction processing, preparation, tax research, and planning;
Contacting internal and external customers to resolve intricate tax matters and ensure compliance with tax obligations;
Review sales tax returns prepared by an external third party, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely filing; reconcile tax to the General Ledger; analyze trends and investigate outliers;
Assist with sales tax audits, gathering documentation, and communicating with business partners and tax authorities;
Provide guidance on sales tax implications for business decisions, such as nexus determinations, taxability, and exemption opportunities; and
Communicate effectively with business partners to gather information, address questions, and deliver high-quality service.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
3 - 6 years of accounting or finance experience
Ability to independently resolve complex problems where analysis requires in-depth evaluation of several factors
Proven history of being able to deal with large and complex data sets taken from several systems
Ability to be a business partner that provides critical recommendations
