\n- Serve clients within the “Office of the CFO” at private equity portfolio companies, creating a diagnostic framework and enhancing the effectiveness of the finance function.
- Play a key role in identifying and assessing business obstacles within the Finance and Accounting organization; this includes executing on current state evaluations, gap analysis, requirements gathering, future state design, and implementation remediation execution across the people (organizational design/assessment/training), process, technology (financial systems) and data architecture with the support of experience leaders
- Interact directly with Portfolio Company CFOs and Controllers, Operating Partners, Portfolio Support teams, Deal Teams, and our Private Equity practice to understand key initiatives in the value creation process to define scope and key priorities (which may be competing)
- With help of experienced leadership, assist portfolio companies with executing scalable ‘buy-and-build’ strategies by developing and implementing repeatable integration playbooks.
- Leverage knowledge of business processes such as Procure-to-Pay, Opportunity-to-Cash, Record-to-Report including Financial Close/Planning/Analysis, Recruit-to-Hire-to-Retire and Master Data Management to optimize client operations
- Utilize a comprehensive approach to identify and assess business challenges within the Finance and Accounting organization
- Utilize knowledge of finance tools, automation, data analytics, and cutting-edge solutions to meet client needs Assess and escalate project issues, risks, or conflicts to the project manager for prompt resolution, ensuring proactive risk management and effective project delivery
- Identify integrations and efficiencies between the client's accounting systems and other tools, streamlining processes, and maximizing the effectiveness of their financial operations
- Support Business Transformation projects, including system strategy, process improvement, operational performance enhancement, change management, program management, data analytics, stakeholder management, and business analysis
- Effectively transition solutions back to private equity portfolio companies.
- Seek opportunities to integrate additional solutions and service lines into clients to deliver full-scale transformation services aligned with client needs
- Oversee project administration activities, encompassing project setup, planning, budgeting, account management, and billing, ensuring smooth project completion
- Mentor team members by coaching colleagues, providing regular ongoing feedback and annual performance reviews, and helping project teams resolve complex issues
- Cultivate new client relationships and deepen existing one
- Experience delivering to middle-market Private Equity Sponsors and their portfolio companies
- Knowledge of end-to-end Office of CFO (FP&A, Accounting, etc.)
- Experience executing on end-to-end transformation services across people, process and technology
- Experience in working with transactions and related integration activities
- Experience delivering in high pace environments with competing priorities and multiple key stakeholders
- Experience conversing with the Controllership/Accounting and FP&A teams
- Experience with agile methodologies
- Expertise of Microsoft Excel (e.g., macros, pivot tables, etc.) and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of financial systems and data analytics and related tools (e.g., Salesforce, NetSuite, Intacct, Dynamics, Adaptive, Coupa, OneStream, Floqast, Blackline, Tableau, Alteryx, SQL) a plus
- Experience mentoring and developing team members
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
- 6+ years of experience working in a client-facing role at a public accounting firm or equivalent consulting firm
- Industry experience within the OCFO a plus
- MBA, CPA, CFA, CSM a plus
- Willingness to travel up to 40%; travel varies based on client preferences
