Director of Finance
Mission
To support the financial strategy and operations of the company, ensuring risk management, financial health, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Reporting to the CFO, collaborate closely with executive leadership to drive informed decision-making and optimize finance operations.

Responsibilities
Financial Operations:
Execute on efficient and comprehensive financial operations aligned with the company's growth objectives and market expansion plans.
Drive dynamic financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis processes to support strategic decision-making and resource allocation.
Implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Manage the controllership function (which is currently outsourced).
Maintain relationships with bankers and debt holders with optimized and proactive communications; day-to-day operational efficiency; and cash flow management.
Support relationships with customers and vendors through professional revenue cycle and payments management.
Financial Performance Optimization:
Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, identifying trends, opportunities, and risks.
Support the leadership in reporting on key performance metrics across the organization.
Support the flow of internal data to support reporting on key performance metrics.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accounting standards, and tax regulations across all jurisdictions where the company operates.
Implement robust risk management practices to identify, assess, and mitigate financial, operational, and regulatory risks.
Lead the external accountant review process – and eventual transition to an audit; as well as support other audits and compliance reporting such as taxes, SRED, and SOC 2; as well as any internal control testing and due diligence processes.
Team Leadership and Development:
Build and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Provide unbiased performance assessment, coaching, and professional development to grow talent and enhance team capabilities.
Competencies
Have a CPA. CA designation. MBA is a plus but not required. Minimum of 5 years experience in a management role.
Financial Acumen: Expertise in financial analysis, modeling, and valuation techniques. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Business Acumen: Sufficient understanding of the different functions of the business and their financial requirements to act as a valued partner to the functional leaders, supporting their financial needs and coming up with financial solutions as required.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and translate business objectives into actionable financial plans and initiatives. Proven track record of developing and executing successful financial strategies to drive growth and profitability.
Leadership and Influence: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate, align, and influence cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Experience leading change initiatives and driving organizational alignment towards common goals.
