This role is focused on generating revenue for our Public Sector Vertical which includes Federal and State US Government, Provider Research and Non-Profit Organizations. This role is specifically targeting the US Federal Government with possible State government focus as growth allows. As an Account Executive you will be responsible for taking accounts through prospecting, discovery, qualification, proposal generation, and contracting in partnership with a senior sales executive leader. The role is quota-carrying and will report into the Head of Public Sector Partnerships as part of the commercial team. You will:
- Generate introductory conversations with new logos that expand Datavant’s ecosystem, through outbound prospecting and inbound lead qualification.
- Develop a deep understanding of accounts through research, prospecting, and discovery and qualification.
- Develop relationships with both government and channel partner stakeholders.
- Structure deals that align with customers’ value drivers and create mutual value realization over time
- Forecast pipeline accurately and effectively to guide business outlook
- Manage multiple stakeholders’ objectives to maintain deal momentum
- Navigate procurement and legal processes at prospective clients in an efficient manner
- Work closely and cross-functionally with Implementations, Product, Engineering, Marketing, Data Sourcing and Customer Success teams to develop programs and solutions that establish, expand, and deepen customer relationships
- Identify and iterate on new commercial ideas and offerings to drive productivity, scalability, and discovery of best practices as we 10x the number of customers in the next few years
- Ensure that the organization receives consistent feedback regarding prospects’ and customers’ needs and objectives
What you will bring to the table:
- 3+ years of experience in a combination of business development, sales and/or management consulting with a leading healthcare or government related business
- Prior public sector, healthcare-related SAAS, middleware and/or data sales experience strongly preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and prioritization skills with keen analytic and quantitative skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to clarify and summarize complex issues in all forms: written, conversational, negotiations, and presentations
- Unwavering focus on delivering customer satisfaction
- Self-starter with relentless energy and positivity
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment and willing to hustle to get things done
- Willingness to travel 30% of the time
Bonus points if:
- Living in the North Eastern United States
- Prior knowledge of Government Procurement
- A combination of either Sales, Healthcare, Medical Research or Government Experience

The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000 - $180,000 plus applicable variable incentive.
