We’re looking for a Freelance Graphic Designer with a passion for music to help support our short-term efforts in creating visually stunning assets for various digital touch points that effectively communicate our brand’s look, feel, and message. The ideal individual for this project will collaborate closely with team members across the marketing team to develop creative campaigns, promotional materials, digital content that elevates our online brand presence, drive user engagement, and support asset creation and deliverables for company branding efforts.
Contract Basis
This is a 1099 contractor role. All candidates should be able to provide a W-9 if selected.
Scope of Work
Design branded assets based on new brand guidelines, including:
- Slide Deck Template (10 unique layouts)
- 1 Email Template
- 1 Social Media Post Template
Additional design opportunities as needed.
Timeline
Deliverables by April 30, 2024 with max 3 rounds of revisions by due date.
Compensation
$650 for completed project.

- Designing Visual Assets: Ability to create compelling visual content including campaigns materials, social media graphics, email templates, banners, digital ads, and other promotional materials that align with our brand identity and marketing objectives.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency in branding across all marketing materials, maintaining a cohesive visual identity that resonates with our target audience, and carries the brand vision through all internal and external touchpoints.
- Typography and Layout: With a solid understanding of design fundamentals and visual communication, pay meticulous attention to typography, layout, and composition to create visually appealing designs that effectively communicate key messages and the brand story.
- Collaboration: Have a collaborative mindset, working closely with content creators, marketers, and other Discogs’ team members to ensure that visual and written content complement each other seamlessly and are delivered in a timely manner.
- Accountability: Ability to deliver projects in a timely manner.
- Feedback Incorporation: Proactively seek and receive feedback from stakeholders and iterate on designs to refine and improve the visual impact and effectiveness.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Proven experience (2 years) working as a graphic designer, preferably in a freelance, marketing, or advertising agency setting.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and impactful design work.
- Solid understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
- Willingness to work with design tools including Canva and Google Slides to empower stakeholders usage across the company.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate and present design concepts effectively.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Distinguished taste and flexible style, able to take brand guidelines and interpret them into creative ideas.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent years (4) of experience.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web design principles, or desire to learn is a plus.
- Adept at using website content management systems, particularly wordpress, or desire to learn.
- Talent or skills in illustration, motion graphics, video creation, or editing are all a plus.
- Passion for music and a creative mindset with a willingness to push boundaries and explore innovative design solutions.
