Who We’re Looking For
The Senior Graphic Designer is responsible for developing and maintaining the visual communication of Discogs across all digital and tangible Marketing and internal company branding touchpoints. This role demands a dynamic individual who excels at creating visually stunning content that aligns with our brand strategy. The Senior Graphic Designer will develop and execute creative assets and digital content to enhance user engagement and elevate our brand presence as a cohesive ecosystem of and impactful visual communication. Additionally, the Senior Graphic Designer will support internal branding efforts to maintain quality and consistency in all visual assets produced. This position calls for a strong grasp of design principles, the ability to bring brand guidelines to life in impactful ways, exceptional taste and creativity, the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, the ability to create, organize, and maintain branded assets and templates to empower the greater Discogs team to scale design production efficiently. Proficiency in front-end WordPress design and page creation is essential, as the role involves developing and maintaining our marketing initiatives and landing pages on the WordPress platform.

- Designing Visual Assets: Create compelling visual content, including campaign materials, social media graphics, email templates, banners, digital ads, and other promotional materials, aligning with our brand identity and marketing objectives.
- Develop Systems for Efficiency: Create and manage templates, tools, and asset libraries that empower non-designers across the company to create communication collateral that are impactful and on-brand.
- Concept Development: Collaborate with the marketing team to brainstorm and develop creative concepts for marketing campaigns, product launches, and special promotions.
- Brand Consistency: Ensure consistency in branding across all marketing materials, company communications, and editorial platforms, maintaining a cohesive visual identity that resonates with our target audience and carries the brand vision through all internal and external touchpoints.
- Adaptability: Adapt designs for diverse audiences and digital platforms, optimizing graphics for web, mobile, email, social media, slide decks, and other mediums, potentially including video.
- Typography and Layout: Apply a solid understanding of design fundamentals and visual communication to create visually appealing designs, paying meticulous attention to typography, layout, and composition.
- Collaboration: Work closely with content creators, marketers, and other Discogs team members to ensure that visual and written content complement each other seamlessly and are delivered in a timely manner.
- Stay Updated: Keep abreast of industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the quality and effectiveness of our marketing materials.
- Accountability: Deliver projects in a timely manner, manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Feedback Incorporation: Proactively seek and receive feedback from stakeholders, iterating on designs to refine and improve their visual impact and effectiveness.
- Cross-Functional Design Support: Support teams across the company with their visual communication needs, including but not limited to People Operations and other internal needs for company-branded content.
- Champion Diversity: Champion diversity, inclusion, and innovation in shaping the look, feel, and visual communication of Discogs.
- Front-End WordPress Design and page building: Develop and maintain marketing initiatives and landing pages on the WordPress platform, ensuring they align with overall design and branding strategies.

What You’ll Contribute
Minimum Education and Experience
- Proven experience (4+ years) working as a graphic designer, preferably in a freelance, marketing, or advertising agency setting.
- Strong portfolio showcasing creative and impactful design work, with an emphasis on digital and web-based projects, included in application materials.
- Solid understanding of typography, color theory, and layout principles.
- Proficiency with design tools including Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and Google Slides.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate and present design concepts effectively.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to collaborate with and inspire a creative team, bringing ideas, receiving constructive feedback, and delivering impactful design deliverables.
- Distinguished taste and flexible style, able to interpret and apply brand guidelines creatively.
- Proficiency in front-end WordPress design and page creation is essential.
- Knowledge of web design principles, and basic HTML, CSS skills, or a desire to learn quickly.
Nice to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent years (4) of experience.
- Talent or skills in illustration, motion graphics, video creation, or editing.
- Data visualization and photography
- Passion for music and a creative mindset with a willingness to push boundaries and explore innovative design solutions.
