What you will do:
As a Jr. Software Developer, you’ll be an essential part of our engineering team. You’ll contribute to the design, development, and deployment of high-quality software solutions, primarily within the Mendix platform. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, business stakeholders, and senior developers, to deliver scalable, maintainable, and robust applications.
This is a unique opportunity to not only deepen your Mendix expertise but also expand your technical skills by working with cutting-edge technologies such as AWS, Node.js, Java, and more.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to design and develop Mendix applications.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and user story refinement to coding, testing, and deployment.
- Work closely with your Team Lead or Engineering Manager to ensure adherence to coding standards, best practices, and quality assurance.
- Actively participate in daily standups and sprint planning, refining user stories and turning them into high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Partner with product teams, business stakeholders, and fellow developers to ensure that the solutions delivered meet business needs and align with the technical roadmap.
- Assist with troubleshooting, debugging, and improving the performance of existing applications.
- Explore and contribute to projects outside of Mendix as needed, working with technologies such as AWS, Node.js, Java, and microservices.
How you will grab our attention:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience from coding bootcamps or certifications).
- 0-2 years of software development experience.
- 0-2 years of experience working with the Mendix platform.
- Mendix Academy Rapid Developer certification or equivalent practical experience.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Bonus Points for:
- Experience with Java, Node.js, React.
- Understanding of microservices architecture.
- Knowledge of event-driven systems like Kafka.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS.
