Reporting to the Manager of Shared Service Systems, the Application Integration Software Engineer will help with the development, configuration and testing of multiple, concurrent, and large multi-phase systems development and maintenance projects. You will provide technical leadership and apply solid technical skills to develop and deliver enhancements, translate requirements into technical solutions, resolve system issues and provide documentation that supports the organizational technology standards. About the Role Be a technical Subject Matter Expert for Application Integration and provide technical advice to team members through all phases of the systems development life cycle. Develop unit test cases, using test-driven development and automated testing frameworks, and validate test results during testing. Test and debug applications to ensure reliability and that LCBO standards are met. Assist users in solving programs, answer system and application-related questions, validate and challenge resolution, recommendation, and address/resolve escalated issues. Run research to find the root causes of Production Incidents. Develop application integration solutions developed in java, python, scala. Experience working with enterprise and solution architecture to provide solutions that are compliant to next-generation architecture. Create technical documentation and system diagrams to document any enhancements to the product. About You Post-secondary education in Computer Science/Programming or an equivalent of related education and experience. 5 years’ experience capturing and documenting requirements, Development, Configuration, Solutions Evaluation, Validation and Deployment. Proficient in Java or Python, XML, JSON, SQL, Restful APIs and cloud technologies. Desirable technologies include Scala, JavaScript, Jenkins, Kafka, MuleSoft and Data Weave. Experience with System Integration Techniques, Data and Process Flows. Experience with relational and object database environments (Oracle, Postgres, MS SQL, Elastic Search) Experience with container orchestration platform such as Kubernetes, CI/CD practices and principles. Unit and system test planning and execution techniques Collaborative team player – work with colleagues to identify problems, creating root cause analysis and develop solutions Willingness to participate in professional development activities to stay current on industry knowledge and applications.
