The Engineering Team at Fleetio is expanding and has an opportunity for a Mobile Engineering Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be one of our leaders for our mobile engineering teams and oversee the design, development, and delivery of high-quality mobile applications natively for Android and iOS.
You will influence the following areas: engineering leadership, technical strategy, code quality and performance, and mentorship across mobile engineering. You will collaborate closely with fellow engineering leaders, product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define requirements, prioritize features, and deliver high-quality mobile releases.

This is a remote opportunity and is open to candidates in the United States, Canada, or Mexico.
Who you are
The ideal candidate for this role possesses a blend of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and strategic vision. You have a solid background in mobile application development with proficiency in iOS and Android development in a SaaS environment. Your leadership experience includes successfully managing and inspiring high-performing engineering teams, driving innovation, and fostering a collaborative work culture. You exhibit strong problem-solving skills, adaptability to a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, user-centric mobile solutions. This role is part of the Engineering Leadership team and will report to the Director of Mobile Engineering.
Your impact
- Your primary focus is leading mobile development teams, but you feel comfortable collaborating with web and api teams to deliver a cohesive customer experience across all platforms
- Utilize profiling and APM tools to assess and solve poor mobile user experiences and performance issues
- Holistically mentor and guide direct reports in professional development and career growth to nurture a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Enable mobile teams to produce well-tested, maintainable, and performant code
- Foster a positive and productive work environment that boosts the morale of your team
- Review your teams' code to ensure quality, maintain consistency, and share knowledge
- Advocate for and mentor the team on mobile engineering best practices and development patterns
- Champion for the overall quality of the mobile codebase
Your experience
- 2+ years of experience leading mobile engineering teams as a Manager or Lead in a SaaS environment
- Proven experience in mobile engineering, building native mobile apps (iOS preferred)
- Ability to thrive in a product-led organization that follows an agile software development lifecycle.
- Solid expertise in the latest mobile development, build, test, and deploy practices that drive agility, consistent delivery, and quality
- Strong passion and track record of attracting, developing, and retaining engineers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
