Description
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Quality Engineering Manager to help lead our Quality team. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Quality, engineering leadership, and the broader engineering team to help build upon our quality engineering practices. You will also work with counterparts on the product team to help build and deliver a high-quality service for our users.
Our Quality Engineering team is focused on championing quality across the organization and enabling engineering to delivery high quality software. Our team comprises of SDETs focused on automation, and Quality Analysts and Engineers focused predominantly on manual testing efforts. We've optimized our CI/CD tools and processes to easily get code into our production environments, resulting in an average of 40 deploys per week (web app) and weekly mobile releases. Who you are
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality engineering, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record of driving quality initiatives and leading high-performing teams. You thrive in a collaborative environment and are adept at managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously. You possess deep knowledge of quality engineering principles, methodologies, and tools. Your technical proficiency spans across various testing frameworks, automation tools, and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes. You are passionate about continuous improvement and are always seeking ways to enhance processes, tools, and team performance. Your proactive approach to driving change and your ability to inspire others to embrace new ideas are key strengths. This role is part of the Engineering Leadership team and will report to the Director of Quality.
Your impact
- Monitor and improve release quality and operational practices necessary to deliver high-quality releases
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and increase efficiency
- Identify quality engineering metrics and help drive team performance utilizing those metrics
- Lead, mentor, and develop the quality engineering team, fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement
- Set clear objectives, performance goals, and professional development plans for team members
- Collaborate with the product team to plan, test and ship quality releases
- Aid in recruitment and retention efforts to continue growing our quality engineering initiatives and culture
- Oversee the development and maintenance of quality documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), test cases, and quality team literature
Your experience
- 2+ years of experience leading quality engineering or quality-focused teams as a Quality Engineering Manager
- Proven experience with web and mobile testing practices that ensure quality releases
- Strong track record in quality engineering as an individual contributor and as a leader
- A strong advocate for automation where necessary that has a meaningful, positive impact on quality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

- You know a thing or two about the fleet management industry
- Prior experience as a Software Engineer or as a Software Engineer in Test
