Job Overview:
Invitro Capital is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Engineer with expertise in Python to be part of our team. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining robust and scalable backend systems for our portfolio companies. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and reliable code. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects and contribute to the growth and success of our ventures.
Working Hours are from Monday's to Friday's, Pacific Time Zone.
Senior Backend Engineer, Responsibilities:
- Design and implement backend software solutions using Python and related technologies.
- Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
- Ensure high performance, scalability, and reliability of backend systems.
- Optimize code for efficiency and maintainability.
- Conduct code reviews to ensure code quality and best practices.
- Identify and troubleshoot software defects and performance issues.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in backend engineering.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer or similar role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and related frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask).
- Experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Solid understanding of software development principles, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and query optimization.
- Proficient understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Understanding of software testing and test-driven development (TDD) principles.
