About your role

We’re looking for an exceptional candidate to play an integral role in managing our accounting organization and provide support across the company. You’ll report to the CFO and work with our executive team to develop the infrastructure needed to build a world class accounting organization. In addition, you should possess strong interpersonal skills, empathy for others, and thrive at building solid relationships based on trust.
What you’ll do
Manage all Accounting Operations, including revenue recognition, expense management, cash management and related collections, A/R and billing, prepaids/fixed assets, A/P, accruals/credit cards, equity administration, and payroll.
Responsible for the month end reconciliations of Balance Sheet and Income Statement accounts.
Own the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes and associated reporting packages.
Financial statement analysis – comparison of actual results to prior periods.
Manage global expansion, including entity creation, transfer pricing, and payroll.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls and mitigate risk.
Continually evaluate and where appropriate implement new processes to facilitate the automation of our accounting function.
Own order-to-cash
Manage the external and internal audit functions.
Manage our 409A compliance and valuation process.
Prepare and manage all regulatory reporting and research technical accounting issues to ensure compliance.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related; CPA preferred
7+ years experience as a Controller with SaaS organizations.
Significant experience with accounting ERP systems, NetSuite preferred
Experience with other systems, including Bill.com, Floqast, Avalara, Shareworks, Brex, SFDC, BillingPlatform, and Maxio.
Practical knowledge of accounting principles and procedures, such as ASC606.
Experience managing audits.
Experience with creating financial statements, general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process.
Detailed understanding and implementation of a control environment including SOX controls experience
Propensity to automate processes for efficiency and data integrity.
Ability to manage a distributed team in a remote-first environment
Previous experience in managing businesses with both offshore and international operations is preferred.
Previous experience with IPO readiness is a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills

Compensation
Compensation for this position includes a base salary, bonus, equity, and a variety of benefits. The U.S. base salary range for this role is $190,000 - $230,000. Actual base salaries will be based on candidate-specific factors, including experience, skillset, and location, and local minimum pay requirements as applicable.
