Kruze Consulting provides accountingservices to over 800+ startups backed by top tier venture capital funds. The VP of Finance is responsible for the comprehensive management and oversight of the company's internal financial activities and team. They are planning, directing, coordinating, and executing all aspects of the company’s financial strategy, management, and operations. As the leader of the corporate finance team, the VP of Finance will collaborate closely with the CEO and have a seat on the Executive Leadership team to shape the company’s strategic direction as well as playing a critical role in the overall success of the firm. Additionally, they possess strong leadership skills to foster a collaborative environment and drive performance for the internal finance team. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, a passion for coaching and developing others, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment are essential for this position.

NEED TO HAVE/POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree with a major in Accounting
· 15+ years of corporate accounting experience
· Significant experience in accounting at a professional services firm (accounting, consulting, law firm, marketing/PR/advertising, etc.) or at a tech or SaaS company with Monthly Recurring Revenue
· Expert knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles
· Advanced knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting best practices, U.S. GAAP, laws, standards, and state/national regulations
· Experience leading, coaching, and developing a team of accounting professionals
· Expert experience with QuickBooks Online (certification a plus)
· Advanced proficiency with spreadsheet software (MS Excel and Google Sheets)
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
· Meticulous attention to detail – able to follow through/execute on a high volume of nuanced tasks
· Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency in a fast-paced setting with a wide variety of tasks
· A love of rapidly changing technology/software solutions that maximize efficiency and deliver firmwide value
NICE TO HAVE/POSITION PREFERENCES:
· Licensed CPA or equivalent qualification
· Master’s degree in Accounting
· Experience leveraging PowerBI to uncover/analyze useful financial insights
· Experience in a fully remote people-centric culture
· Experience in a high growth/startup/entrepreneurial environment
· Experience with tech-forward accounting platforms such as Brex, Bill.com, Stripe, and Rippling
· Experience with newer platforms such as Slack, Salesforce, 1Password, Airtable, Box, Loom and many others
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
Financial Strategy & Reporting (60% of the time)
· Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning and decision-making to leadership
· Develop and implement financial strategies for budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
· Review and analyze financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement
· Forge close collaborations with other departments to uphold financial data precision and regulatory adherence
· Streamline operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs by implementing best practices in financial management
Compliance & Risk Management (15% of the time)
· Stay informed and current with bookkeeping, tax filing, HR standards, and other related government regulations
· Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by maintaining compliance documentation
· Assessing internal controls, including risk assessments and reviews of risk areas
· Institute industry best practices and maintain effective internal policies
People Management & Coaching: (15% of the time)
· Manage a small, international team of Finance professionals
· Motivate people by offering multiple leadership approaches depending on different people’s needs
· Develop people using contemporary coaching strategies that enhance the professional capabilities of the team
· Cultivate performance excellence through individualized coaching, training, and performance management
Other (10% of the time)
· Work in tandem with the team to institute industry best practices, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safeguarding data accuracy
· Additional administrative and reporting activities for the team

· Client financials and accounting – we have a team that is responsible for client work
