NeoWork is looking for a detail-oriented and dedicated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for managing financial records, performing account reconciliations, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for performing a range of accounting and clerical tasks related to the accounts payable, accounts receivable, & accounting function. This role will support the month-end close process by assisting with monthly schedules, journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, which include processing invoices, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring proper invoice approvals are received.
We are seeking a candidate who has strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of accounting principles and experience with accounting software.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports
- Perform monthly account reconciliations and assist with the month-end close process
- Prepare journal entries, manage accounts payable/receivable, and handle payroll transactions
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and budgets
- Conduct variance analysis to track financial performance against budget
- Help ensure compliance with accounting regulations and company policies
- Assist with internal and external audits as required
- Stay updated on accounting best practices and regulatory changes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- At least 2 years of experience as a Staff Accountant or in a similar accounting role
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency in accounting software (Quickbooks, Bill.com, etc.) and Microsoft Excel
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with various stakeholders
- Owned computer or laptop and stable internet connectivity.
- Knowledgeable in Office 360, Google Apps, and client-facing communication.
