Job Description
The Accountant II analyzes, classifies, and reviews routine accounting transactions and interrelationships. Responsible for identifying issues and concerns within the scope and complexity of the job and may identify possible solutions. Request guidance when decisions are outside established parameters. Responsible for compliance with US GAAP and adherence with the control environment. This role will support the businesses of Vericast.
KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- General Accounting: Prepare and analyze account reconciliations as assigned. Responsible for identifying issues and concerns within the scope and complexity of the job and may identify possible solutions. Request guidance when decisions are outside established parameters. Adhere to established accounting procedures policies and assigned tasks.
- Month End Close: Prepare and provide adequate documentation for journal entries. Review account balance and activity to ensure completeness and accuracy for assigned accounts. Provide support to the Accounting team as required.
- Audit: Responsible for providing support for the internal and external audit requirements as assigned. Ensure documentation is aligned with financial statement balances and demonstrates an appropriate audit trail.
- Financial Reporting & Analytics: Compile documentation for quarterly and annual reporting and disclosure requirements. Create schedules research transactions gather support material for both reporting and disclosure requirements.
- Process Improvements and Procedures: Demonstrates a commitment to the process for continuous improvement and is open and responsive to change. Maintain desktop procedures and ensure business processes are in place to ensure we will meet or exceed our goals and key performance measures.
- Special Projects: Participate and provide support to projects as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Required)
EXPERIENCE
- 4+ year's of accounting experience. Any public accounting experience a plus.
- Strong Excel skills preferred.
- SAP & Hyperion Essbase experience a plus.
COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS
- Must have good written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with accounting team and Accounting management on your accounts and work product. Some level of interaction with internal and external auditors.
DECISION MAKING
Limited decision making responsibility but required to identify to senior accounting team and Accounting management relevant alternatives to solve problems.
Additional Information
Base Salary: $50,000 - $70,000
The ultimate compensation offered for the position will depend upon several factors such as skill level, cost of living, experience, and responsibilities.
