Job Description
As the Sr Manager of Process Improvement and Portfolio Management, you will lead all aspects of overall global program management related to Workplace Operations process improvements to achieve targeted outcomes. This includes project chartering, identification of metrics, resource requirements and milestones, creation of project schedules, stakeholder change management and communications plans and mitigation of risks. The Sr Manager of Process Improvement and Portfolio Management reports to the VP of Operational Intelligence. This position requires excellent communication, leadership, listening skills and the ability to engage with clients at all levels, including senior-level executives across the organization globally.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish the Workplace Operations Portfolio Management Governance structure and create a center of excellence for project intake, management, and delivery
- Develop, implement, and govern portfolio management processes, tools, templates, policies and metrics
- Monitor compliance with project policies and standards
- Hire and manage project staffing requirements in line with project objectives
- Provide executive leaders with the information needed to assess and decide which proposals have the highest potential value, impact and strategic alignment
- Interface with executives to define project priorities, implementation opportunities, challenges and communicate project risks and opportunities
- Serve as the global portfolio lead for targeted Workplace Operations transformations and will deliver new and innovative capabilities in support of operational excellence and business needs
- Identify and mitigate operational risks: Proactively identify potential risks and issues within processes and implement solutions to mitigate them
- Provide leadership and guidance: Manage a team of process improvement and project management professionals and provide direction, support, and mentorship to ensure successful execution of initiatives
- Develop and lead process improvement strategies: Design and implement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across business units and processes
- Lead continuous improvement efforts: Drive a culture of continuous improvement by developing and implementing best practices, tools, and methodologies to optimize processes and drive measurable results
- Utilize analytics to drive decision-making: Leverage data and analytics to identify areas for improvement, track progress, and inform strategic decisions
- Identify relationships between systems: Develop a holistic understanding of how teams and existing processes work by learning how changes in one process may impact other parts of the business
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work closely with various departments and teams to identify process improvement opportunities and develop solutions that align with business goals
- Establish and monitor performance metrics: Develop and implement performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of process improvement initiatives and track progress towards goals
- Stay updated on industry trends: Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging trends in process improvement and operational analytics and apply them to enhance our processes
- Foster a culture of innovation: Encourage and support a culture of innovation and creativity within the organization by promoting new ideas and approaches to improve processes
- Provide coaching and training to team members and employees on digital tools, process improvement methodologies, and change management approaches
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8-10 years of experience in business technical operations
- Must have a strong technical and project management foundation
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with trust and credibility amongst internal stakeholders and external partners
- Proven track record and experience in driving process improvement, management and completion of critical projects, and delivering sustainable solutions
- Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills to influence a variety of audiences
- Self-driven engagement with excellent follow-through skills
- Ability to work in a mission critical environment and prioritize tasks
- Ability to work virtually
- Resourceful and approachable with the ability to influence and lead significant change
- Flexible working hours to accommodate East, West and International hours to meet the business’ needs and relationships
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Global management experience
- Experience in working with global teams for a globally facing organizations across several platforms
- Higher education in Technology Management
- Certification and experience in SCRUM and AGILE methodologies
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
Fully Remote: This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
