Job Title: General Accountant
Location: Remote (Philippines)
Position Overview:
The General Accountant will be responsible for maintaining the company’s general ledger, handling reconciliations, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The ideal candidate is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Philippines with at least 5 years of experience in GL accounting and proficiency in Xero.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain the general ledger (GL), ensuring the accuracy of financial transactions.
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end reconciliations and closing processes.
- Prepare financial reports including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other reports as required.
- Ensure timely and accurate posting of journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Monitor and reconcile bank accounts, vendor accounts, and other general ledger accounts.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Ensure compliance with local and international financial reporting standards.
- Handle audits and ensure the company’s financial records are compliant with audit requirements.
- Work closely with external auditors, tax authorities, and other third parties as needed.
- Provide financial insights and support to the management team to aid decision-making.
- Assist in the development and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
- Maintain and manage the accounting software (Xero) and ensure seamless integration with other business tools.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) qualification in the Philippines.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in General Ledger (GL) accounting.
- Proven experience with Xero accounting software.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication skills to interact with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial tools.
- Experience in a business intelligence or data-driven company is a plus.
