Senior Product Manager at Qsic
THE ROLE
At Qsic, we have built the world’s first platform for fully-automated in-store environments using AI-driven experimentation and applied learning at scale. And in doing so, we unlock unimaginable in-store revenue potential for our clients and their customers.
We’re hiring an experienced Senior Product Manager to join our team. You will report to David Goodlad, CTO, partner with our engineering manager as well as our senior leadership team. As a product manager, your role will involve overseeing the conceptualisation, development and delivery of new products and features. Your focus will be our users, working from real-world problems to create solutions that meet our customers’ needs. You will work cross-functionally to guide products and features from conception to launch by connecting the technical, customer and business worlds. You should be able to break down complex problems into steps that drive product development.

TECHNOLOGIES USED
You’ll work with engineering managers to help guide the team in building our AI enabled platform that ingests client’s POS data (point of sale, to be clear:)), streams music and advertising to smart speakers (fun fact - we’re one of the world’s biggest installers of Sonos) and provides analytics to our customers so they know the positive impact we’re having.
There’s a backend API, a music streaming service that connects to the Raspberry Pi in each store and finally back office software that manages venues. Our system is composed of a distributed fleet of thousands – shortly to be tens of thousands! – of devices installed in our customers’ locations, with a central API and AI-driven stack to help ensure the right content and messaging are delivered for maximum impact. This leads to some extraordinarily interesting problems, ranging from scaling our services to handle >100k requests per minute, reliably operating tens of thousands of embedded systems, building industry-leading AI applications to drive effective messaging, all the way through designing the UIs that help us and our customers use and understand our platform.

What’s most important is values fit.Work flexible hours from our Melbourne office or remotely around AustraliaJoin the whole team for frequent gatherings – we get everyone together at least once a quarter, more frequently when it matters
THE COMPANY
Been to a 7-11, JB Hi-Fi or McDonald's recently? If so, you have heard Qsic in action. Our software streams the right music and advertising based on what's happening in store. We do this with a team of music curators and also AI that looks at point of sale data, weather data, local event data. It helps enhance sales, customer satisfaction and improve retail work environments.
The first line of code for what would become the Qsic platform was written in our first office in 2012. Our founders, Matt Elsley and Nick Larkins simply knew there had to be a better music streaming solution for businesses. So, we set out to build Australia’s pioneering and leading commercial music streaming platform.
Today, we have built the world’s first platform for fully-automated in-store environments using AI-driven experimentation and applied learning at scale. And in doing so, we unlock unimaginable in-store revenue potential for our clients and their customers.
