Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Revenue Accountant to oversee revenue recognition and related accounting operations in a SaaS environment. The ideal candidate will play a key part in ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards, managing subscription-based revenue, and supporting the financial close. The role requires an individual with a strong understanding of SaaS revenue models, subscription-based revenue recognition, and related financial reporting requirements.

The US-based salary range for this full-time position is $110,000-$130,000. Our salary ranges are determined by the role and seniority level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay can be determined by additional factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and/or training.

About the role:
- Lead the revenue recognition process for SaaS contracts, ensuring compliance with ASC 606.
- Review contracts to determine proper revenue treatment for subscriptions, renewals, and varying revenue types.
- Ensure proper allocation of revenue between multiple performance obligations in contracts.
- Monitor monthly/quarterly revenue recognition schedules, ensuring timely and accurate recognition.
- Continuously improve revenue processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate data flow between CRM, ERP, and revenue recognition systems.
- Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes.
- Engage in daily accounting tasks, including bill payments and cash application.
- Assist in quarterly and annual audits, preparing schedules and documentation for auditors.
- Ad hoc projects as requested.
- This candidate will join a growing team and reports directly to the Corporate Controller.
- Can tell stories with the data, presenting a clear picture for management
- Is driven to stream-line processes to make tasks simpler
Specific qualifications & requirements:
- CPA certification required
- 5+ years of experience in revenue accounting, with at least 3 years of experience in SaaS or subscription-based business models.
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP
- Familiarity with Sage Intacct is strongly preferred, experience with Salesforce is desirable
- Strong technical skill set including experience with enterprise ERP systems
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent communication and organizational capabilities
- Demonstrated ability to present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
- A self-starter with the ability to thrive in a quick adapting and high-growth environment
