Reports To: Chief Legal Officer (CLO) / Head of Legal Affairs
Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Legal Counsel to join their dynamic legal team. This role involves providing comprehensive legal support to the organization, advising on a wide range of legal matters, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology-related legal issues and possess excellent analytical and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Legal Advisory
- Provide legal advice to internal stakeholders on a variety of matters, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, data privacy, and employment law.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including vendor agreements, partnership agreements, and service contracts.
- Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards related to the technology sector.
- Monitor changes in legislation and assess their impact on the company’s operations.
- Risk Management
- Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Conduct legal research and provide insights on various legal issues to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Dispute Resolution
- Handle disputes and litigation matters involving the company, cooperating with external counsel as necessary.
- Work towards timely and cost-effective resolution of legal disputes.
- Corporate Governance
- Support corporate governance initiatives and ensure adherence to internal policies and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain corporate documents, including minutes of meetings, bylaws, and reports.
- Training and Awareness
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters, promoting a culture of awareness and responsibility.
- Advise on ethical practices and compliance with company policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.); admission to practice law in relevant jurisdictions is required.
- Must have been admitted to bar in your country
- 5+ years of legal experience, preferably in the technology sector or a corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, intellectual property, data privacy, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders effectively.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and technologies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
- Admitted to the Bar
- Impressive communication skills and attention to detail
- Fluency in English
- High motivation to work in a fast-paced environment
- To be comfortable managing large amounts of documents, seeking out new technological solutions to make processes and functions more efficient
