THE ROLE
Sotheby's Data & Analytics team is seeking a talented and motivated candidate to accelerate our efforts to drive trust in and the usage of data to drive decision making across the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understand business requirements from various stakeholders and plan a solution to address data requirements
- Collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics and visualization
- Develop, design, and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytics
- Define new KPIs and analyze them to form actionable recommendations
- Present to business leaders in both ad-hoc forums and routine business review to drive strategic decision making.
- Identify new data functionalities or enhancements needed to support better decision making and business growth.
- Solve any data or performance issues related to workbooks and data sources
IDEAL EXPERIENCE & COMPETENCIES
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years relevant work experience: SQL, conducting large scale data analyses to support business decision making, working with structured and unstructured data, joining large and complex data sets.
- 3-5 years experience in all phases of the BI lifecycle in a Tableau environment including dashboard design, development, testing, implementation, and post-production support.
- Strong experience with data preparation for reporting (e.g., data profiling, data cleansing, volume assessment and partitioning) including ETL and data modeling (relational and dimensional)
- Ability to move between high level architectural review/design and the “roll up the sleeves” level of providing oversight and execution for project delivery.
- Proficient in Excel, SQL (DBT), and Tableau
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; professional and responsive
The proposed base salary for this position ranges from $115,000-$130,000. In addition to base salary successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, as well as a competitive benefits package. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered.
