We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant - Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team.
Job Summary: The Accountant - Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for efficiently managing the accounts payable process to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of payments, vendor management, and account reconciliations. This role requires a proactive individual who can maintain high standards of financial integrity and contribute to the seamless functioning of the accounting department.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts Payable Management:
- Process new vendor invoices and general overhead bills accurately and in a timely manner.
- Verify the arrival of materials associated with vendor invoices to ensure proper documentation.
- Process approved subcontractor invoices in compliance with company policies.
- Handle employee expense reports, ensuring completeness and adherence to expense guidelines.
- Report sales tax details to the CFO for accurate financial reporting.
Reconciliation & Reporting:
- Reconcile and post credit card statements to maintain accurate account balances.
- Ensure ledger balance and reconciliation of subcontractor retainage accounts.
- Maintain accurate reconciliation of credit card accounts.
- Review accounts payable reports for accuracy, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring timely closure.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Liaise with vendors, subcontractors, and internal departments to address queries and ensure smooth operations.
- Support the CFO and other team members with additional tasks and reports as needed.
- Proven experience in accounts payable or similar accounting roles.
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools
- Strong understanding of general ledger reconciliation and financial reporting.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
Salary: $1000 - $1200
