Description
TechOp Solutions is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Junior Technical Writer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in technical writing, with a focus on producing clear, accurate, and high-quality documentation. This role involves collaborating with various teams to create and refine technical materials, ensuring they are error-free and easily comprehensible.
Key Responsibilities
- Copywriting and Editing: Develop and edit a range of technical documents, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency in tone and style based on agency needs/preferences.
- Proofreading: Meticulously review documents for grammatical, typographical, spelling, and formatting errors, ensuring all materials are error-free.
- Collaboration: Work closely with technical and non-technical teams to gather information and refine content, ensuring it meets the needs of the target audience.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain high standards of documentation, including adherence to company style guides and best practices in technical writing.
Requirements
- Education: HS Diploma and 2 years of experience. Preferred: BA/BS degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1 year of experience in technical writing, copy editing, or a related field supporting a government agency.
- Skills: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail. Ability to grasp complex technical concepts and make them understandable to a non-technical audience.
- Copy Editing Experience: Demonstrated ability to edit technical documents for clarity, grammar, and accuracy.
Additional Qualifications
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in MS Office Suite (especially MS Word), Adobe products, and other relevant technical writing and documentation tools.
- Familiarity with document design and layout principles, with the ability to create visually appealing and reader-friendly documents.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously with keen attention to deadlines and details.
- While the location is remote, candidates must reside in the DMV area to be considered for this role, as occasional on-site meetings may be required.
