About the opportunity:
We are seeking a Paralegal to help drive the legal operations and processes for one of the most innovative technology projects. This role is ideal for someone with an ownership mindset, pays attention to detail, and has an ability to anticipate needs while working autonomously. You’ll manage and support multiple legal workstreams and collaborate with external providers on:
Corporate Governance and Compliance: Work across all aspects of corporate governance, maintain and update corporate records, including board meeting minutes, resolutions, and organizational documents; assist in maintaining statutory and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions in which the protocol operates, and help maintain and implement internal policies and procedures.
People Ops: Support HR and people ops with employment and contractor agreements, managing onboarding, and developing legal frameworks for benefits and token-based compensation (experience with equity-based incentives preferred).
Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including service agreements, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, and confidentiality agreements. Establish streamlined contract management processes.
Intellectual Property (IP) Management: Manage and monitor the Foundation’s IP portfolio (trademarks, copyrights, patents), advise on strategy, resolve disputes, and negotiate licensing agreements.
Token Grants and Trading Compliance: Assist legal and finance teams with tracking token vesting and liquidation (e.g. 10b5-1 trading plans), manage trading restrictions, and collaborate with vendors to use and develop tools to streamline the foregoing processes.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Assist in managing litigation and dispute resolution workstreams that may arise, including coordination with external legal counsel.
About you:
Self-starter who leads projects from inception to completion with minimal oversight. You approach novel problems with curiosity and put in the work to learn and adapt in order to find a resolution, unafraid to ask questions and propose proactive solutions.
Thrives working across teams, fast-paced environments with excellent prioritization and organizational skills. You are adept at organizing your workflow, setting milestones, and achieving objectives efficiently.
Able to translate complex legal concepts into actionable business solutions and anticipate potential challenges.
Experience working on cross-jurisdictional legal issues in multicultural settings.
Experience working with or at fast-growing and dynamic tech companies.
Direct experience working on legal matters faced by crypto or blockchain companies is preferred, but not required. Nevertheless, you should have a strong passion for learning about and understanding complex and innovative technologies and the potential they have to make the world more accessible and equitable.
