The Role:
Zania is building AI-powered compliance automation—a problem that affects every enterprise, yet no one has solved properly. We’re fixing that with AI agents that remove manual bottlenecks in security compliance. Our team includes engineers from Microsoft, Airbnb, Brex, Instacart, Oracle, and CrowdStrike, and we need someone equally sharp to lead our India engineering team.
This isn’t a corporate leadership role. This is a builder’s job—you’ll architect systems, ship code, manage a high-caliber team, and scale our AI stack to real enterprise adoption.
What You’ll Do:
Scale our AI-driven backend using Python (FastAPI) and design APIs that can handle real enterprise workloads.
Lead, recruit, and mentor a team of elite engineers from IITs, BITS Pilani, and top NITs—set high standards for code and execution.
Write, review, and optimize code—this isn’t a hands-off role. You’ll be deep in the tech, not just overseeing.
Own product engineering from 0 to scale—architect, build, and deliver with speed. No endless meetings, just execution.
Make AI work in production—optimize models, build integrations, and ensure uptime for Fortune 500 clients.
Collaborate with global teams—work directly with founders and engineers in the US on the hardest technical problems.
Who You Are:
✅ 5-10 years of experience, including 2+ years as an Engineering Manager.
✅ Built a 0-1 product that people actually used—not an internal tool, not a research project, but a startup product that got real traction.
✅ Managed engineers in high-performance teams—hired, mentored, and led teams that actually shipped.
✅ Elite engineering background—IIT, BITS Pilani, top NITs, or equivalent high-performance experience.
✅ Writes and ships production code—deep expertise in backend (Python, FastAPI), frontend (React, TypeScript), and systems design.
