ABOUT THE TEAM
The engineering team is responsible for all technology for Bestow and the Bestow Platform. We serve employees, consumers, and enterprise customers. In addition to building software, we integrate and manage many third-party products used by employees and as part of the platform. Our major functional teams are product engineering, infrastructure, IT, data and analytics, martech, and program management. Engineering works closely with product management and design to define and prioritize the product roadmap.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join our insurance origination team.
This role will report to our Sr. Director of Engineering and is open to Remote (US).

\n- Work directly with product, underwriting, TPM, and external stakeholders to introduce new insurance products and support and update existing products.
- Work with a distributed team of engineers–mentoring and driving engineering best practices.
- Assist in setting the roadmap for team deliverables in a dynamic environment.
- Ensure that SLOs/SLAs are being tracked and met.
- Drive delivery of high-quality product initiatives and engineering improvements.
- Work with the team to identify, scope, and schedule improvements to the underwriting platform.
- Be very technical and willing to participate in system design, pull request reviews, and incident investigations.
- Be data-driven in their engineering management practices.
- Drive data-driven continuous improvement with the team.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required
- 5+ years experience developing software, with at least 1 year of prior management experience.
- Ability to track key metrics and consistently meet established Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Ability to understand complex technical problems and identify areas of risk.
- Ability to ‘go deep’ technically when necessary. You should be able to read and understand the code your team generates.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
