Job Title: Controller
Work Hours: 4 hours overlap between 9:00 AM-5:00 PM PST (US Time); the other 4 hours can be flexible
Salary Range: $1,400-$2,000 per month
Overview of the Role:
We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Controller with strong e-commerce accounting and bookkeeping experience. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our financial operations, including accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health and stability of our company.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and budgets.
- Manage and reconcile e-commerce transactions and ensure accurate recording of revenue and expenses.
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial regulations.
- Coordinate and manage annual audits and tax filings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support business growth and operational efficiency.
- Manage cash flow, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff.
- Calculate and analyze the cost of goods sold (COGS) to ensure accurate financial reporting and inventory management.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or CMA certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping, with a focus on e-commerce.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Amazon Seller Central.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Experience in calculating and analyzing cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
