Aledade seeks an experienced mid-level attorney to provide support on a wide range of legal and business matters. The Counsel will support others on the legal team and assist with the drafting, reviewing, and negotiating, of various corporate agreements entered into between Aledade and various third parties, all working together to promote value based care, among other things. This attorney must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and supporting multiple attorneys on the legal team. The Counsel will have a multi-faceted role spanning support for the outreach and growth team as well as the business development team.
We are flexible with respect to geographic location, and the ideal candidate will be comfortable working remotely/work from home within the US or from our offices in Durham, NC; New York, NY; Austin, TX; or Bethesda, MD.
\n- Provide support to lead attorneys in structuring, drafting, negotiating and reviewing complex contracts, licenses, non-disclosure agreements, and various other corporate agreements.
- Take lead on reviewing, redlining and negotiating corporate agreements between Aledade and its participating practices.
- Provide support to lead attorneys in connection with third party payer transactions and payer or network contract review.
- Review, structure and discuss with internal clients terms of such corporate agreements and ability to issue-spot and then escalate when needed.
- Create, improve, and implement internal processes and procedures and guide teams in standardizing such contracts.
- Handle additional assignments and responsibilities as needed.
- J.D. degree and membership in at least one state bar.
- 3-5 years prior experience in a business-oriented law firm or in-house legal department.
- Experience with healthcare companies or health plans.
- Experience advising on machine learning technology or artificial intelligence.
- Strong written, communication, and research skills.
- Interacts with others in a positive, respectful, and considerate manner. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, including the ability to explain complex information to non-lawyers.
- Ability to work in a team environment while also delivering independent results
- Demonstrated ability to work under competing deadlines and adjust responsibilities in response to recalibrated business needs.
- Ability to be flexible and scale in an extremely fast-paced, thriving startup environment.
