Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled paralegal with a minimum of 3 years' experience in family law practice. Proficiency in California law is a prerequisite. We seek an individual who excels in managing deadlines, efficiently progressing projects, and compassionately assisting clients facing challenging personal situations. The ideal candidate will be self-reliant, detail-oriented, and possess established systems for task follow-up.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and format pleadings, correspondence, and legal documents.
- Coordinate documentation with clients, including financial disclosures.
- Manage cloud-based case files.
- Calendar court deadlines and meetings.
- Engage in document proofing, preparation and e-filing.
- Keep clients informed about the progress of their legal matters.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned, including cross-training and supporting various administrative tasks.
- 3+ years of experience in a California family law practice.
- Paralegal Certificate is mandatory.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Adobe Acrobat Pro, CFLR suite.
- Familiarity with family law Judicial Council Forms.
- Experience in court calendaring.
- Professional demeanor with a commitment to ethics, discretion and confidentiality.
- Warm, caring, and positive attitude.
- Familiarity with DissoMaster, Lawyaw, and law practice software.
- Prior administrative support experience in a law firm.
- Possession of a Legal Project Management Certificate or relevant experience is a significant plus.
- Availability from 9-5 PST, Monday through Friday.
- Competitive compensation $75,000 - $110,000 (commensurate with experience).
