Where and how you can work
Our flagship office is in Sydney, Australia, but we've made our way from down under, to a hub San Francisco, which is now home to our US operations. This role requires you to be either based in San Francisco.
About the Corporate Accounting team
Get ready to embark on an exhilarating journey with a global Finance team of over 180 and a dynamic Corporate Accounting team of more than 20 Canvanauts spread across the US, APAC, and Europe!
As Canva continues to rapidly scale globally, we’re engaging with a broader range of external stakeholders, regulators and reporting requirements. Our Corporate Accounting team is the backbone of this operation ensuring our quarterly financials are not just timely and accurate, but also comparable and compliant. The Corporate Accounting team owns a significant part of the accounting close process, managing the financial accounting for key operational areas across the global Canva Group as well as facilitating the monitoring of month-end close processes of other teams. The team also supports all change management and policies that safeguard our general ledger and financial reporting structures in this space.
Our Corporate Accounting team is a powerhouse, divided into five key areas: Operational Expenses, Balance Sheet, Intercompany & Multibook, Compensation, and Controllership & Consolidation.
Now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager, Corporate Accounting to lead our Compensation and Balance Sheet teams.
About the role
Reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Accounting, you'll have the thrilling opportunity to coach and lead a talented team across the US and APAC locations. As a dynamic team leader, you'll inspire and empower your team to devise innovative solutions to complex challenges, fostering a culture of collaboration and driving the creation and optimization of processes to boost efficiency.
In this role, you'll forge strong partnerships with other Finance teams, including Revenue Accounting, Technical Accounting, Policy & Reporting, Tax, FP&A, and Finance Systems. Together, you'll strategize and execute on ambitious company goals, while also educating and supporting partner teams to ensure everyone is aligned and understands our financial objectives.
This is a golden opportunity for those who are passionate about leveraging their deep technical expertise, operational prowess, and leadership skills to tackle commercial problems. The role is a perfect blend of strategic vision and hands-on action, meaning you might occasionally dive into tasks like journal entries or whatever the situation demands.
We're on the hunt for a leader in Corporate Accounting who challenges the status quo and seeks to innovate rather than follow conventional paths. This role offers a significant chance to make a profound impact on both Finance and the overall company goals. If you're ready to lead with passion and drive transformative change, this is your moment to shine!
