Description
The Finance Director – Americas Region has direct responsibility for the regional Finance function, inspiring, motivating and leading this small team to deliver business partnership, decision-support, a strong control environment and quality management and financial reporting. A key area of responsibility will be implementing reliable budgeting and forecasting as well as the preparation of investment cases for growth.
The Finance Director also influences the broader Americas regional team in driving quality of revenue, cost savings and improved operational performance including profitability and cash conversion. They will be a key contributor to discussions and decisions relating to the strategic direction, performance and stewardship of the region as well as having executive responsibility, alongside the Managing Director – Americas, for implementing and delivering the agreed targets and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
· The role will report to the Group Director of Finance and will also support and work closely with the Group CFO, both of these executives are based in London, U.K. These relationships will be particularly focused on delivering weekly revenue tracking, monthly management reporting, periodic forecasting and annual budgeting. The information delivered needs to be timely, accurate and compliant with IFRS accounting standards
· The role will act as key business partner to the Managing Director – Americas, monitoring the performance of the business and building close working relationships with client partners and the regional management team to not only measure outcomes but to influence them
· The role will be tasked with upgrading the quality of the region’s management information, ensuring that the Group and Regional leadership teams are provided with timely and accurate, forward-looking commercial information. This will include leadership of financial budgeting and forecasting processes with tracking and follow-up on forecast reliability. It will also involve establishing robust revenue recognition methodologies and ensuring compliance with these and their ability to be successfully audited
· The role will provide significant input into business strategy and operational initiatives and will be a key member of the Americas leadership team, collaboratively ensuring the regional implementation of Group Strategy, including the development of greater discipline around commercial terms and margin improvement
· The role will drive and support the Group’s M&A activity in the region, including post-deal integration (as and when this occurs)
· The role will oversee compliance with regulatory and taxation requirements and all regional treasury and cash flow management. This will be part of the role’s responsibility for developing a strong financial control and governance environment. This will involve business partnership with the People Lead – Americas on areas such as 401k plans.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
· You will be a qualified CPA with a good working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
· You will ideally have experience as a divisional FD or Group FC of a larger listed company
· You will likely have experience of the professional, marketing or other B2B services sectors, with a strong digital/online emphasis and a familiarity with revenue pipeline management
· You should have a strong commercial orientation and be able to add value at a strategic and operational level, beyond the confines of the finance function. Ideally you should have delivered an effective growth strategy
· You should have strong analytical and data insight skills, coupled with the ability to present financial information, sometimes to a non-financial audience
· You should be familiar with general ledger, financial reporting, project management and CRM systems and the data flows between them. You should work with your peers in the other regions to develop more compelling, consistent management instrumentation across the group
· You will have the experience and stature to be credible within the business and externally to auditors, advisers and other stakeholders, as required
· You will have a strong intellect, be able and willing to engage with, support and challenge a professional-led business employing highly analytical people and be comfortable in a collaborative, intellectually rigorous, dynamic culture
· You should be highly articulate and persuasive, with excellent communication and presentation skills and be committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and probity
· You should have an active, hands-on, engaged style; be focused on deliverables, interested in the business and keen to support the executive team
· You should be eager to work with an ambitious Managing Director – Americas with whom you will develop a productive partnership, providing support and advice and helping to drive change where necessary

This salary for this role is approximately $160k, dependent on experience and geographical location.
This role will ideally work from the Eastern timezone.
