This position is for self-employed contract work only. All work is coordinated remotely. Market research, experience in financial services and fluency in English are key.
Euromonitor International is looking for a professional with a background in financial services to support the fieldwork for our market research projects. You will be:
- Engaged on short-term ad-hoc projects
- Supported on each by a project manager in one of our EMEAI offices.
Please note that the nature of our work is very ad hoc and there may long periods between projects so this is ideal for someone already freelancing with other clients and looking to expand.
This role will suit a self-starting and independent individual, who is looking for the flexibility of working from home. Experience within the financial field is required.
Being ad-hoc, our financial services projects can address different types of questions to deliver insightful business intelligence. Examples of this include:
- What are the current trends in the investment landscape (e.g., M&A, PE/VC, IPO, etc) , and how do they impact investment opportunities for both Corporates and Investors?
- How do macroeconomic factors, such as interest rates or inflation, influence investment decisions?
- What are the risks and opportunities associated with the investments?
- What are the potential targets in the market and what are the financial health of these targets?
- What synergies could be realized through the investment?
- How do various factors, such as market conditions and management decisions, affect the financial performance of a company?
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducting thorough due diligence on companies in the context of M&A IPOs, assessing their financial health, market positioning, and growth prospects.
- Engaging with key stakeholders for insights relevant to investment evaluations.
- Collecting and analysing data from diverse sources to support investment valuations and decisions.
- Reviewing and collecting information from secondary sources.
- Developing a market and financial model for the investment.
- Generating detailed reports and presentations using MS Excel and Word to communicate findings and recommendations effectively.
- Availability of min. 30 hours per week when actively engaged on a project.
- Knowledge of the Financial Services industry.
- Tenacity in the pursuit of information and a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a willingness to find strong industry contacts.
- High level of numeracy - Ability to work with, analyse, and interpret data.
- Fluency in English.
- Previous experience working on a short-term contract basis or in a freelance capacity.
- Excellent time-management, organization and self-motivation skills.
- Proven proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Continuous training in our market research methodologies via online courses and selected live training sessions.
- Collaboration with an international team across EMEA and beyond.
