Core Expectations
- Ensure accounting controls according to GAAP, deferred revenue, journal entries, month-end and year-end close, bank reconciliation, annual audit process, sales taxes, asset depreciation schedules, etc.
- Prepare and communicate a story with an analysis of the monthly financials
- Optimize processes to maintain the integrity of data and drive both efficiency and accuracy.
- Implement strong accounting policies and procedures across all Accounting Team functions
- Manage revenue and cost accruals. Track and reconcile GL accounts and assist in other reconciliations as needed.
- Prepare routine and complex journal entries, analyze and compile reporting for accounting activity.
- Learn and execute the reporting process for partner, merchant, and contract payouts.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings including sales and payroll taxes.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
- Be a part of and collaborate with team members to develop, implement, or improve processes. Regularly report on process performance with key stakeholders and provide and gather feedback regularly.
- Demonstrate the ability to think through a problem with a deep understanding of the business. Be able to evaluate information both quantitatively and from a value perspective and then be able to translate that into something that can be understood easily by others.
Preferred Skills
- Must be a strong communicator, and decision-maker and have the ability to work through ambiguous scenarios.
- 5 or more years of relevant work experience required.
- Degree in Accounting or Finance and CPA designation preferred
- 2 or more years of building and managing a remote team preferred
- Strong understanding GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
- Experience evaluating and communicating outcomes quantitatively with a drive for root cause analysis
- Ability to obtain, organize, and analyze data and scenarios to challenge conventional wisdom
- Demonstrated knowledge of key business financial metrics and communicating key performance indicators to stakeholders in support of business objectives
- Proficiency in financial analysis, pricing models, and statistical techniques with the ability to work with complex data sets
- Knowledge of merchant services, payments processing, or fintech industry trends and regulations.
- Experience with Sage Intacct
Technical requirements:
- Must have access to a wired internet connection
- Must have access to at least a 25 megabits per second (mbps) download and 20 mbps upload speed connection

The salary for this position is $90,000 - $150,000. We may be open to negotiating outside of this range if the desired salary aligns with the needs of the candidate and the company.
