Job Overview:
The Cloud Financial Operations (FinOps) Engineer will be responsible for managing and optimizing cloud financials, ensuring cost efficiency, and providing financial insights across multi-cloud environments including Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle Cloud. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of cloud service provider (CSP) billing models, FinOps tools, and best practices to help the organization effectively manage cloud costs while aligning with business objectives. This position is fully remote and requires an active Top Secret clearance.
\n- Cloud Cost Management: Monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud costs across Azure, AWS, GCP, and Oracle environments.
- FinOps Strategy Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cloud cost management strategies and governance models to optimize cloud spending.
- CSP Billing Optimization: Develop processes to manage cloud billing, negotiate cloud contracts, and ensure efficient utilization of cloud resources.
- Cloud Financial Reporting: Create and maintain detailed financial reports on cloud usage, trends, and cost optimizations, and communicate insights to key stakeholders.
- FinOps Tooling: Implement and manage CSP FinOps tools such as CloudHealth, AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or similar tools to gain detailed visibility into cloud spend.
- Forecasting and Budgeting: Provide forecasts, set budgets, and assist teams in adhering to financial goals for cloud usage.
- Cost Allocation and Chargebacks: Design and manage a cost allocation model for various departments and teams based on cloud resource usage.
- Optimization Recommendations: Work closely with DevOps and infrastructure teams to identify opportunities for cost-saving measures such as rightsizing, automation, and service adjustments.
- Governance and Best Practices: Develop and enforce policies, practices, and guardrails around cloud usage to prevent overspending and ensure compliance with financial goals.
