Job Summary:
The Privacy Procedure Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of privacy procedures and policies for federal agencies. This role requires a deep understanding of federal privacy laws, regulations, and guidelines, as well as strong project management skills to ensure that privacy programs are effectively integrated and maintained within the agency’s operations. This position is part time totaling 100 hours and is fully remote.
\n- Privacy Program Management:
- Develop, implement, and manage privacy policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal laws and regulations.
- Oversee the creation and maintenance of privacy documentation, including privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and system of records notices (SORNs).
- Ensure agency-wide adherence to privacy policies and procedures through regular audits and assessments.
- Project Management:
- Lead privacy-related projects from inception to completion, ensuring that all project goals and objectives are met on time and within budget.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including legal, IT, HR, and external consultants, to implement privacy initiatives.
- Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Training and Awareness:
- Design and deliver privacy training programs to educate employees and contractors about privacy requirements and best practices.
- Foster a culture of privacy awareness throughout the agency.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and assess privacy risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Respond to privacy incidents and breaches, conducting investigations and implementing corrective actions.
- Compliance and Reporting:
- Monitor compliance with federal privacy laws and regulations, including the Privacy Act, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA).
- Prepare and submit required privacy reports to federal oversight bodies.
- Stakeholder Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for privacy-related matters within the agency.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including federal regulators, auditors, and other government agencies, on privacy-related issues.
