Job Description
About your team & mandate:
Over the past six months, Ignition has leaned heavily into growing our self-serve business—helping more customers trial, onboard, activate, and subscribe with less friction by improving the product experience. We’ve built strong foundations in data, engineering, experimentation, and customer insights. Now, we’re looking for a hands-on Principal Product Manager to drive measurable growth.
In this role, you’ll lead Growth efforts across acquisition, activation, monetization, and retention, designing and optimizing experiences that help customers succeed with Ignition. You’ll also be the business owner for our self-serve segment, responsible for core self-serve metrics, reporting on business performance, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive results. This role is both strategic and hands-on—ideal for someone who can shape high-level strategy while also executing on the details.
What your day-to-day looks like:
- Own self-serve growth metrics—analyzing trends, identifying opportunities, and driving execution across onboarding, activation, monetization, and retention.
- Design, launch, and optimize experiments to improve conversion rates and customer success at every stage of the journey.
- Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to build high-impact growth initiatives—whether it’s improving onboarding flows, refining pricing strategies, or driving retention loops.
- Act as the business owner for self-serve, owning revenue and growth targets, working closely with finance to forecast, track performance, and ensure we hit company goals.
- Advocate for the self-serve customer experience, collaborating with product, marketing, and GTM teams to ensure messaging, onboarding, and engagement strategies align with customer needs.
- Balance quick, iterative experiments with longer-term bets, ensuring we move fast while building scalable growth levers.
- Deeply understand our customers and their pain points, using data and direct insights to inform strategy—not just running growth hacks.
- Champion a test-and-learn culture, ensuring we experiment smartly, measure rigorously, and double down on what works.
Qualifications
The Successful Candidate Has
Proven ownership of at least one core growth area (Acquisition, Activation, Monetization, Retention) in a $10M+ ARR SaaS business.
A track record of measurable impact—you’ve driven real growth and can explain how you did it.
A business owner mindset—comfortable reporting on self-serve performance, identifying growth opportunities, and driving cross-functional execution.
Deep analytical skills—comfortable querying data, analyzing trends, and turning insights into action.
Customer obsession—you know growth isn’t just about running experiments; it’s about deeply understanding your users.
Experience with A/B testing and experimentation—you know when to run tests, when not to, and how to interpret results.
A strategic-yet-tactical mindset—balancing big bets with quick, iterative experiments.
A hands-on approach—willing to dive into execution while owning high-level strategy.
Strong communication and leadership skills—able to align teams and rally support for key priorities.
