Job Description
AbbVie’s Talent Acquisition organization has an exciting opportunity for a contract Senior Recruiter to support the Research & Development organization. The Senior Recruiter is responsible for developing and executing robust recruitment strategies that align with the business’s needs, goals, and objectives. In addition to sourcing and recruiting top talent for AbbVie, this role requires collaborative strategic partnering with the business as well as cross-functional Talent Acquisition and HR partners.
Responsibilities:
- Lead full life-cycle recruitment efforts for one or more business functions in R&D.
- Identify and attract top, qualified candidates for open requisitions by utilizing multiple recruitment tools and tactics to source passive and engaged candidates. Pre-screen and present a diverse slate of candidates for open roles. Develop a strong, qualified pipeline of candidates for future openings.
- Update and manage candidates’ applications status within an applicant tracking system to ensure that candidates are receiving information regarding their application timely, also ensuring that recruiting metrics are accurately tracked and key activities are tracked.
- As a trusted partner, utilize a consultative approach to guide and manage the recruitment process by supplying direct feedback to hiring teams and sharing guidance that influences hiring decisions.
- Establish a true business partnership with hiring managers and leadership on all talent acquisition related topics.
- Prepare competitive offer packages, supplying equity and market competitiveness data when needed. Deliver offers to candidates and manage the offer negotiation process through completion.
- Compile and communicate recruiting data including key hiring metrics for the function, industry overviews, and market trends to team members and business leaders.
- Ensure compliance to state/federal employment laws and AbbVie policies and practices for applicant tracking compliance and reporting metrics.
- Project management in various functional areas at any given time, partnering with talent acquisition team members and cross-functional HR partners to deliver sourcing and recruitment strategies that supply talent for current or future job opportunities.
Significant Work Activities: Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree is required
- A minimum of 3 years of full-lifecycle recruitment experience in a competitive, demanding, and high-volume environment is required, 5+ years is preferred. Experience recruiting within the biotechnology industry (pharmaceutical, medical device, biomedical research) is highly preferred.
- Sourcing experience and expertise is required. The ability to demonstrate success utilizing a variety of different sourcing tools and methods is required.
- Must demonstrate the ability to build strong business partnerships, acting as a trusted advisor to the client groups and proven ability to influence leadership. Must be comfortable with tracking and analyzing data to identify trends and insights that are key to influencing business decisions.
- Must be capable of executing complex offer negotiations, looking for creative solutions where possible. Experience developing and communicating compensation packages that include equity and long-term incentives is preferred.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
