The Payroll & Tax Compliance analyst will be responsible for the research and evaluation of payroll tax regulatory changes to ensure that the R365 payroll platform meets the needs of our customers expectations for US payroll tax compliance. They will partner with our internal teams to evaluate and determine compliance in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
\n- Research payroll tax compliance and setup issues raised by external and internal stakeholders while providing guidance for resolution.
- Proactively track potential payroll tax regulatory changes at federal, state, and local level
- Find and propose solutions to payroll tax compliance and setup issues, recommend system enhancements, and assist in the development, testing, and implementation of the proposed solutions.
- Research, evaluate, recommend, and summarize payroll compliance implications of new employee programs and/or labor agreements.
- Create, update, and maintain a central repository of payroll compliance narratives and records.
- Partner with third party vendors and developers to resolve payroll tax issues
- Other duties as assigned.
- 5+years of tax & payroll compliance analysis or related experience; or advanced degree and equivalent work experience
- Demonstrated working knowledge of U.S. local, state, and federal payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements to ensure product and services are compliant.
- CPP/EA preferred
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail and strong organizational and work prioritization skills.
- Knowledge and experience in the SaaS / Software industry preferred, but not required.
- Advanced demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Excel and tax and payroll systems and how they operate.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality and use upmost discretion when accessing sensitive information.
- Previously demonstrated experience in assessing and mitigating risk related to payroll tax compliance
- This position has a salary range of $78K-$90K. The above range represents the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic location.
