About the Position The Data Scientist is responsible for assisting with clinical data management. This position will support the coordination of multi-site study protocols through data extraction and statistical analysis, data cleaning and quality control, data transfers and merging of files, data queries, ad-hoc reports, and agreement execution. This position works cross-organizationally to ensure data quality, report real-time data for investigators and staff, and document standard operating procedures. This is a hybrid position assigned to the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. A thorough government background check will be required. About The Project These contracts will focus on non-invasive methods for enhancement of REM sleep to improves stress adaptation and traumatic memory consolidation. Salary Range $31.25 per hour. Salaries are determined based on several factors including external market data, internal equity, and the candidate’s related knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position. Responsibilities: Write scripts and perform matrix analysis using R, SQL, and/or Python Prepare analysis plans and write detailed specifications for analysis files, consistency checks, tables and figures in conjunction with the on-site supervisor Complete statistical analysis of independent data groups using appropriate scientific methods Provide input on analysis plans and design for the analyses of multiple complex data sets from diverse scientific areas Collaborate and assist the Principal Investigator, Co-Investigators and research team in the performance the research study Contribute to the drafting and submitting of abstracts, manuscripts and reports for dissemination Interpret analyses and write statistical sections of study reports and for scientific manuscripts Prepare progress reports on research as required Analyze and write-up data Present complex information effectively to a range of audiences Provide data management assistance Provide project close-out support Maintain and promote Geneva’s core values of Integrity, Superior Service to Customers, Quality, Teamwork, Innovation, and Respect for All Possess a working knowledge of The Geneva Foundation’s Employee Handbook, User’s Guide and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as applicable Remain accessible and accountable at all times during work hours and collects messages at least twice daily Return telephone messages within 24 hours of receipt; return email messages in a timely manner as appropriate Comply with the dress code of The Geneva Foundation and assigned duty station Promote positive, professional relationships with co-workers and The Geneva Foundation Maintain and update files of all applicable regulatory documentation for IACUC or IRB (including protocols, approvals, amendments, modifications, etc.) as well as any communications with the sponsor or any other Federal or regulatory office (including prior approvals, change in scope, etc.) Qualifications: BS or BA required, MS preferred Must be a US Citizen Knowledge of military system, preferred.
